Shirodhara is a classic Ayurvedic therapy that includes the pouring of warm herbal decoction on the forehead in a continuous stream. It is a part of Panch Karma (Detoxification Process). The materials and herbs in the decoction depends upon one's constitution. The human body is like an upside down tree. For example, when something is wrong with the leaves of a tree, we treat the roots of the tree. Similarly, when something is wrong with our body, we treat the head first. The head of the human body is the same as the roots of a tree. As per the Bhagavad Gita, we call the "Urdhva Mulam Adhahshakham", which is a unique concept of Ayurveda that gets rid of the root cause of most diseases.
Shirodhara helps as a remedy for anxiety, stress, tension, fatigue, headache, migraine, and much more. Shirodhara is also helpful in a lot of psychosomatic disorders.
